Official Constitution

COSA || 2018

Article I – Name

The name of this organization shall be SciTECH.

 

Article II – Statement of Purpose

The purpose of this organization shall be to inform the readers of ideas that will transform the future; encourage scientific curiosity both within and beyond the Choate community; showcase research conducted by Choate students, faculty, and alumni; and garner attention from the public.

 

Article III – Student Leadership

This organization shall be led by a masthead composed of a managing editor and editors.

 

Article IV – Electing Student Leaders

The managing editor holds full authority over future masthead selection.

 

Article V – Rules Governing Membership

Writers whose articles get published are official members of SciTECH.  

 

Article VI – Meetings

There will be at least one assignment meeting per term, and the masthead will meet at least three times to go through edits.

 

Article VII – Projected Programs

Not applicable.

 

Article VIII – Finances

The expenses of the publication mostly depend on however many copies are printed.

 

Article IX – Ratification & Amendments

Amendments to the constitution can be made with a majority vote on the SciTECH masthead of directors or through intervention by the advisers.

 

Article X – Faculty Adviser

Dr. Bardoe, Mr. Small, and Dr. Hogue have been serving as our faculty advisers since 2015.

 

Article XI – Affiliations

SciTECH Magazine is an independent publication run with the help of Choate students and faculty, but it is not affiliated with Choate Rosemary Hall.

 

Article XII – Statement of Nondiscrimination

Membership in this organization is open to all students currently enrolled at Choate Rosemary Hall regardless of sex, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, or national and ethnic origin.
